From Field to Living Room

This little part of Woodstock has been part of our working family farm since 1967 - over 50 years of enjoying it’s wild beauty through each New England season.

In 2018 we planted our first Christmas trees here. It takes years for a seedling to grow into something you’d want in your living room, so we’ve been quietly tending and waiting.

We grow three varieties - Douglas Fir, Spruce and Fraser Fir. Each one was planted and trimmed by hand, and each one is still a work in progress. That’s kind of the whole idea.

The Case for a Real Tree

Real Christmas trees are a renewable crop. Trees spend years absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen before they ever reach your home.

The unmistakeable fragrance of a freshly cut fir or spruce is part of what makes Christmas feel like Christmas. No artificial tree can replace it.

A properly watered fresh-cut tree will last four to six weeks with ease, staying green and fragrant well past New Year’s.

When the season is over, real trees can be chipped into mulch, used as habitat in ponds, food for animals or composted - a far better end than an artificial tree destined for a landfill. They are biodegradable and low-waste.

Choosing a tree from a local family farm keeps money in your community and helps preserve open agricultural land from development.
